OMODA and JAECOO Unveils Next-Gen NEV Line-Up at Auto Shanghai

Saudi Arabia : With the reveal of new vehicles, the Auto Shanghai 2025 also marks the brand’s second Anniversary.

OMODA and JAECOO have officially unveiled their new line of NEVs marking the second Anniversary at the Auto Shanghai 2025 under the theme “2Years 2gather: From Seed to Speed”. The brand has taken the wraps off from C7 SHS, C5 SHS and J5 BEV. Let’s talk about each model in detail.

The new vehicles underscore the brand’s commitment to bold innovations to fast-track the future of hybrid and electric mobility.

• OMODA C5 SHS: With its sleek design and cutting-edge hybrid technology, the C5 SHS crossover offers a unique urban driving experience that balances style and efficiency for the modern city dweller.
• OMODA C7 SHS: The SUV, powered by a 340 hp engine with a 1,250 km range, is a combination of advanced hybrid performance and excellent fuel economy, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to high performance and environmental sustainability.
• JAECOO J5 BEV: J5 is an all-electric SUV that seamlessly blends off-road capability with the limitless potential of electric power, taking adventure-seekers to new and uncharted territories.

Powertrain and other details

While the engine and other details of JAECOO J5 BEV are not available as yet, the SHS models shed plenty of light on what the other vehicle could get. Here are the details of SHS models from OMODA:

• The SHS incorporates three key technologies into a single platform; a 5th gen 1.5TDGI hybrid engine that makes 340 hp, an intelligent continuous hybrid transmission and hybrid batteries. 
• This combination allows the J7 SHS to get a thermal efficiency of 44.5 per cent and a fuel efficiency of 3.1 litre/100km, apart from a pure electric range of 151.6km.
• In Spain, the vehicle has already captured 7 per cent of the market while in Malaysia it topped the rank in the plug-in hybrid A-segment. In the UK too, the J7 SHS helped OMODA and JAECOO become the fastest automotive brands.

Availability in Saudi Arabia

The brand has already launched C5 and J7 models in the Saudi market. Hence, the newly announced C5 SHS, C7 SHS and J5 BEV could be introduced soon.
