Hyundai Kona Electric

The Kona Electric has good design, features and overall look but what is special is the driving range. Hyundai promises 517 km on a single charge, just amazing, what would one expect. Then it provides quick acceleration, going from 0-60 mph in approximately 7.0 seconds with the bigger battery pack. Also, the electric motor gives huge torque, making the SUV a pleasure to drive. This combination of great range and performance allows the Kona Electric to clearly standout as both efficiency and driving excitement in an EV segment.

I recently checked out the Kona electric out of curiosity as I don’t own an EV, and at present exploring the ones that are available in the market, and I must admit, there are many right now. So, the Kona was among the first, and what impressed me the most is the 450 km of range in a single charge, then the powerful battery of 39.kWh, which provides you power of 135hp and whopping 395Nm of torque. This is sufficient for a user like me, who would use such a range for over a week without worrying about charge.

Hyundai Kona electric is available with a high range of 450 km, and the 40Kw of battery charges in less than six hours makes it quite practical for city driving. With a max power of 134 hp and 395Nm of torque makes it powerful in every terrain in the Kingdom. The cabin is also wonderful with a 10.5 inch infotainment touch screen that supports both apple and android, ventilated seats, wireless charging, automatic climate control and safety with six airbags, ABS, EPS and rear parking sensors makes it a very sensible EV.

I recently checked with the Hyundai dealer here in Riyadh about the electric Kona, and it is most likely coming next year in the Kingdom. I can’t wait to get my hands on this EV once it is available, and I'm looking forward to comparing it against the current available EVs in the market before buying one. I got to drive this car briefly in Germany, and instantly liked it. Overall the handling and drive was fantastic, the cabin is also quite spacious and luxurious and exciting to experience here in Saudi Arabia.

I have been driving Hyundai Kona Electric for a few weeks now and I am really impressed. It has a decent range of 300+ km for city driving and I don't miss the gas stations. It is compact, easy to park and the is design is quite stylish and sleek. Perfect for pollution free driving without compromising on the looks.

I never used an electric vehicle so far over the last 10 years of my owning a car. However, just for a fun of it, recently took a test of the Hyundai KONA, and my impression was just fine, nothing great. While Hyundai has designed the EV well and the performance has been good as compared to my experience of IC engine. I think the price is also okay of the 2024 model of SAR up to 110K, but frankly, I still have doubts about the reliability of the battery and also the charing situation. Don’t want to get the range anxiety, so the car is per se is good but I’m not seriously considering to opt for an EV in Saudi Arabia right now as the market is not prepared.
