The cabin makes quite an impression with modern design and spaciousness with dual-tone finishes and soft-touch materials resisting KSA’s dust and heat. Seating

Front seats are supportive with manual adjustments, and you get height control for excellent road visibility. Since this is a family crossover, the rear is something you will find practical as well as comfortable, especially when spending a long time on those road trips. First, the spaciousness (enough leg, shoulder and headroom) is visible, then, rear AC vents for comfort, enough room for three passengers along with a larger windshield for outside view. Families certainly would love the space; however, some taller passengers may find the space inadequate, but then that is fine for a compact crossover, shouldn’t break the deal though on the Fronx.

AC Vents

City Performance

The Fronx is a joy to drive, no matter which city you are in; that is what we experienced with the crossover. Backed by the 1.5L hybrid engine, which pumps 101 hp of power and 136 Nm of torque, which frankly is quite good for a car of this size, and so, navigating the city traffic is easy. The CVT feels quite smooth, especially true in stop-and-go conditions, and light steering, a great relief in long drives as well as congested parking in cities.  Love the fact that it gives you great mileage, between 20-22 km/L, excellent for daily driving, and all credit goes to its mild hybrid system powertrain regenerating energy during braking. Some of our impressions suggest a peppy feel even with passengers, with absolutely minimal lag from the hybrid setup. And, it goes without saying that compact size makes it great for steering through crowded streets or narrow lanes. The 360-view camera is also helpful in tight manoeuvres, making it a stress-free choice for city usage for daily commuters and families, too.

Highway Performance

Not exactly a highway car, the Fronx can be used with high speed occasionally. You get steady power, and the CVT makes you drive smoothly, even during overtaking. It is great. The car hits a speed of 100 km/h in about 11 seconds, underlining its speed capability. The SHVS system makes it quite efficient, with highway mileage going beyond 20 km/l, which is something significant about the car. The stable ride in crosswinds, with almost no wind noise, makes the cabin quite silent and relaxing. The regenerative braking reduces fatigue on extended drives, but there are elements of engine strain on uphill when loaded. We loved the Eco mode, which is targeted for better mileage and helps save fuel.

Ride and Handling

The Fronx promises an uncomplicated and confident ride, with its suspension tuned to take on city potholes and speed humps without harsh jolts, and so ideal for rough roads. The handling is nimble, with light steering in Eco mode for effortless turns and body roll is minimal in corners. A super cool feel on highways, with the hybrid system allowing easy, smooth acceleration without vibrations. This is further boosted by a quiet cabin, preventing any noise from creeping inside the cabin. Compared to its nearest rival, the Fronx feels a lot more efficient for off-road drives, and the 170 mm clearance handles light sand or uneven surfaces better. We observed fatigue-free driving and found the built quality quite strong and solid, making it durable and also tough for rough terrain, and so it qualifies as perfect for daily commutes or weekend trips.
