The Rogue, which is globally known as the X-Trail, plays a major role in the recovery strategy of Nissan, as it faces tough economic conditions and stiff competition from rivals. The brand is hoping that with the new model, it will reclaim its place in a fast-moving segment with striking looks and electrified performance.

The 2027 Rogue, which was first shown during a strategic product presentation, features strong SUV cues, a wider stance, and full redesigns outside and inside. Production will likely begin in mid-2026 for the U.S. and international markets, including KSA.

There is a muscular fender, which work and squared-off touches of the D-pillars echo design on the Patrol to help reinforce its SUV DNA. Full-width taillights and strong character lines complete the visual update at the rear.

Modern, minimal interior design

On the inside, Nissan has created a cleaner, more premium cabin. The dashboard, which is inspired by the Ariya, features a horizontal layout with two large screens:

They have reduced buttons, and to add refinement, there are materials like soft-touch trim and contrast stitching. Global versions will retain a third-row option, while KSA and U.S. variants remain 5-seaters.

The most important change under the hood is the shift of Nissan toward electrification. The 2027 Rogue will be the first in the U.S. to feature the third-generation e-Power hybrid system, which is already popular in Japan.

It pairs a 1.5L turbo petrol engine that charges the battery with an electric motor that powers the wheels. This setup delivers EV-like smoothness without any need for a plug.

Also confirmed is a plug-in hybrid variant, likely using the Mitsubishi Outlander’s platform. This follows the ongoing collaboration of Nissan with Mitsubishi in EV development.
