Volvo is writing a new chapter of luxury hybrid and electric vehicles in Saudi Arabia. The brand is set to launch the highly awaited XC90, XC60, and the fully electric EX30. These models highlight Volvo's focus on sustainability, innovation, and Scandinavian design.

At the forefront is the XC90, Volvo's top model and a spacious seven-seater SUV. It is now offered as a plug-in hybrid, giving drivers a versatile choice. The vehicle combines comfort, space, and strong performance. This makes it a great option for families and drivers who want a forward-looking vehicle.

Volvo XC90 - Design and Styling

The updated Volvo XC90 will be sold alongside the new EX90, as Volvo has decided to keep producing petrol cars longer than planned. The 2025 version shows fresh front and rear designs that borrow ideas from the EX30 and EX90. These include new bumpers, sleeker headlights, and updated tail-light internals.

The 2025 XC90 stays true to its focus on safety and comfort, with a few small changes. The dashboard is now wider and taller, giving the interior a more modern feel. The large infotainment measures 11.2 inches and has a floating look. 

New storage space has been added to the area between the seats. The cabin also uses more soft-touch and textured materials to make the inside feel more refined.

Volvo XC90 - Powertrain and Performance

The facelifted Volvo XC90 now features a slightly less powerful plug-in hybrid engine, delivering a total system output of 455 PS. Along with this, the SUV is available with two 48-volt mild hybrid engines.

Volvo XC60 Key Highlights

The Volvo XC60 is now part of the line-up as a midsize hybrid SUV that combines style with smart tech. It has a new grille design, more subtle updates to the taillights, and offers new wheel options and colours. 

Inside, the cabin is carefully made for comfort and features a Harman Kardon sound system, providing a high-quality drive built on Volvo’s strong design roots and efficiency for the future. The infotainment screen has been upgraded to an 11.2-inch touchscreen, replacing the older 9.0-inch display. Volvo says the new screen offers better image clarity and quicker response times. 

The car’s engine is a turbocharged 2.0-litre unit connected to a starter-generator system, giving it a total power of 247 horsepower.

Volvo EX30 Key Highlights

The Volvo EX30 is the brand's smallest and most lively all-electric SUV. Its bold front and smooth fascia are complemented by sleek LED headlights and sculpted bumpers. The sporty look is finished with short overhangs, 19-inch dual-tone wheels, and a flowing side profile. Unique C-shaped taillights add a modern touch. 

Inside, the cabin offers a luxurious feel with a tech-rich setup, including a 12.3-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, voice control, and wireless charging. 

Under the hood, it packs a 272PS motor powered by a 69kWh battery, giving a real-world range of about 480km. The rear-wheel-drive SUV delivers 543Nm of torque, combining fun with practicality.

Launch

The new Volvo XC90 will undergo production in Sweden late in 2024. Deliveries should follow soon after. There is no clear info yet on when or if the updated XC90, or other models like the XC60 and EX30, will arrive in Saudi Arabia. Fans will have to wait for more details.
