Saudi Arabia: The Volvo EX40 is a compact fully electric SUV designed around a combination of Scandinavian styling, practical dimensions, and electric performance. Charging and Battery Technology

The EX40 uses a 69 kWh battery in the Single Motor configuration and an 82 kWh battery in the Twin Motor version. It can be charged via DC charging from 10 to 80% in approximately 33 minutes for the Single Motor and 28 minutes for the Twin Motor when using a 200 kW DC charger.

The model also supports battery pre-conditioning. When a charging station is selected as the destination, the vehicle can heat or cool the battery before arrival to help prepare it for charging. The centre display can also show nearby charging stations through Google Maps and provide charging-related information. For home charging, it takes 8 hours to charge from 0–100% using a three-phase 16A connection for both powertrain versions.

Volvo EX40 Exterior Design

The EX40 follows Volvo's compact SUV design language, with a streamlined silhouette and a colour-coordinated front shield. The design helps it reduce air resistance, while the wider rear wheels contribute to the vehicle's stance and handling.

The SUV also features a roof spoiler and integrated rear diffuser. The spoiler incorporates the brake light and rear wiper washer nozzle, while the diffuser is designed to improve aerodynamic performance.

The EX40 is available with wheel designs ranging up to 20 inches. Depending on configuration, Volvo lists 19-inch and 20-inch wheel options, including diamond-cut designs and glossy finishes.

The EX40 also offers a panoramic roof and several interior material options. For climate control, Volvo lists a standard one-zone system, while a two-zone climate system is available. The Volvo Cars app can also be used to remotely warm or cool the cabin and pre-condition the interior.
