What the Performance Adds Over Model Y Premium

Tesla lists the following as standard across all Model Y Premium vehicles:

    • Panoramic glass roof with acoustic glass throughout the cabin
    • 8-inch rear touchscreen
    • Power-reclining second-row seats
    • Advanced driver assistance features
    • Over-the-air software updates

The Performance then adds a specific list on top:

    Exterior

    • Specific front and rear fascia upgraded for high-speed performance
    • 21-inch Arachnid 2.0 staggered forged wheels with aero covers
    • Performance Red brake calipers
    • Carbon fibre spoiler for high-speed stability
    • Glossy black finishes on front fascia, rear fascia and mirror caps
    • Performance liftgate badge
    • Performance puddle lamps

    Interior

    • 16-inch first-row touchscreen with thin bezels
    • Premium audio system with 16 speakers
    • Front-row Performance seats with powered thigh extenders
    • Micro suede and carbon fibre décor
    • Aluminium pedals
    • Handcrafted interior

    Tesla Model Y Performance Seat

The 16-inch front screen is a meaningful upgrade. Because most functions on the Tesla vehicle run through that display, screen size and resolution result in better daily usability. Staggered forged wheels mean different widths front and rear is a genuine performance setup rather than a styling choice.

    Chassis and Adaptive Suspension

This is where Tesla has done the most engineering work according to the release:

    • New springs, stabilizer bars and bushings
    • New adaptive suspension system designed in-house by Tesla
    • All-new control algorithm adjusting in real time to driver and road inputs
    • Customizable drive modes influencing suspension, stability assist, traction and vehicle dynamics

Adaptive suspension matters more in the Kingdom than the spec line suggests. It can soften for broken city surfaces in Riyadh and firm up for a fast highway run so you are getting both.

Driver Assistance and the Full Self-Driving Caveat

Tesla lists the following as standard:

    • Autosteer
    • Traffic-Aware Cruise Control
    • Automatic emergency braking

The car is also described as hardware ready to support Full Self-Driving (Supervised) technology.

What This Means for Saudi Buyers

A claimed WLTP range of 580 km in a car that could go from 0 to 100 km/h within just 3.5 seconds sounds like an unusual combination. Underneath it is still the Model Y, so you are getting the same Practical SUV design and family-friendly cargo space that could cover everything from daily city commutes, weekend family Outings, to long inter-city road trips.
