Toyota has announced the launch of the new Land Cruiser HEV, the first hybrid version in the famous Land Cruiser lineup. The rugged hybrid now sets new standards for off-road electric SUVs in the region. 

The new model can be seen as the potent development in 70 years history of Toyota’s latest hybrid technology. It is made to offer hardcore performance while keeping the strength, reliability, and toughness that made the Land Cruiser prevalent.

2026 Toyota Land Cruiser HEV Engine and Specifications

The new hybrid Land Cruiser retains the core qualities that have defined the model for years that is dependability, strength, and robust off-road competence. These features have now been improved with electrification. The hybrid system delivers 20 per cent more torque and 40 per cent quicker throttle response compared to traditional engines. 

With a total output of 457 hp and 790 Nm, thanks to the 3.5L Twin Turbo V6 combined with the hybrid setup, this is the most powerful Land Cruiser ever made. Despite the added power, it remains efficient and practical.

The new Land Cruiser Hybrid also features Electric Power Steering (EPS). This assists in keeping the control stable when driving off-road. It gives a sharper feeling to the steering, and makes low-speed manoeuvres easier. Furthermore, the built-in big 1500W AC inverter permits you to use household electrical devices directly from the SUV, making it more useful for outdoor activities.

2026 Land Cruiser HEV - Designed to Handle Off-road adventures

The Land Cruiser HEV’s hybrid system is designated to handle tough off-road conditions. If the hybrid unit ever fails, the vehicle can still run using just the petrol engine. This gives the driver confidence in remote areas where help might be hard to find. The battery area has been specially sealed against water, so it won’t affect the vehicle’s ability to cross rivers or water-filled tracks.

Land Cruiser Hybrid Variants 

Toyota has introduced the Land Cruiser Hybrid in the UAE with VXR and GR-S variants. Both versions feature their own hybrid badges and fresh styling details. The VXR model has new, redesigned bumpers to update its look. These models are expected to go on sale in Saudi Arabia as well.

Launch and Price

The LC Hybrid prices have not been revealed by the car maker as of now, however they are expected to be higher than those of the standard 300 Series. This indicates a possible premium, although exact figures remain uncertain.
