Engine and Performance

The GR Yaris retains its 1.6-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine, which now makes 290 hp and 400 Nm of torque. This is an increase of 28 horsepower and 30 Nm compared to before. There is now an eight-speed automatic transmission from GAZOO RACING, alongside the existing six-speed manual gearbox.

The GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission brings race technology to everyday driving. It has eight closely spaced gears that help optimise acceleration. This advanced gearbox shifts smoothly and automatically, matching your driving style. It also offers different modes: Normal, Eco, Custom, and Sport for high-performance driving.

Faster gear changes can help improve lap times on the track. The car’s body is stiffer, and its suspension mounts are stronger with higher spring rates.

Safety

The new Toyota GR Yaris will come with enhanced safety features. It features multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, traction control, adaptive cruise control, lane-centring, automatic high-beam and front and rear parking sensors.

Vertical parking brakes and Toyota Safety Sense will now be standard across the trim levels. Advanced features include blind-spot monitoring, autonomous emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, lane trace assist and reversing camera.

Features and Specifications

The interior has been redesigned to focus on the driver. It now features a lower seat position for better comfort and easier control. A multimedia 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is included to give quick access to important information and entertainment. 

The GR Yaris car further gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster which is a high-quality display and one can browse through different menus and options using buttons on the steering wheel. The side of the car is improved with black door mirrors and handles. It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S or Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres.
