    Price Comparison

    1. As mentioned above, there are two main variants of the new Jetour T2 in Saudi Arabia. The entry-level variant is the T2 COM (Comfort), which is priced at SAR 124,990. This makes even the base T2 a touch more expensive than some of its Japanese or Korean contemporaries. Then again, it comes with a lot more equipment as standard.
    2. Next in line is the feature-packed T2 LUX (Luxury), which is priced from SAR 139,999. Considering that there are rivals in the segment that are priced higher than 150,000 riyals, this range-topping T2 isn’t priced too regressively. Understandably, this being a Chinese offering, backing up the high asking price is a bevy of modern features.

The official distributor of the Jetour T2 in Saudi Arabia is National Motors Supplies, or NMS. It has showrooms and after-sales outlets in all major cities in KSA. Do note that the prices mentioned above may vary depending on the dealership location.

    Dimensions Comparison

With their prices covered, let’s now look at how the Jetour T2 measures up on the outside. Obviously, there are no major variant-wise differences here.Jetour T2 Front angle low view

At over 4.7 meters in length and 2 meters in width, the Jetour T2 is reasonably large for a midsize SUV. It’s also quite tall and comes with 20-inch alloy wheels on the top variant, which add to its presence. The butch-looking exterior design of the T2 involves muscular arches and boxy design details.

The upright stance, square windows, and an equally square spare wheel cover are some of the other cool touches. The Jetour T2 also features contrasting neon green inserts along a few key areas, which makes the overall design seem even more appealing. Of course, there’s no denying the Defender-esque styling ‘inspiration’.T2 All Door Open

    Drivetrain and Performance Comparison

It’s now time to glance at what’s under the hood of the new Jetour T2. There’s only one engine/transmission option available for buyers in Saudi Arabia. However, it’s a pretty well-rounded package.

The turbo-petrol engine makes enough grunt to accelerate the Jetour T2 to 100 kmph in under 9 seconds. Considering its blocky shape and meaty 255-section tires, that’s not too bad. The dual-clutch transmission works well as long as it’s not pushed too hard. It’s also not particularly rapid between ratios, though that’s not a concern in an SUV.

The electrically-assisted steering of the T2 feels light enough. Meanwhile, the BorgWarner-sourced all-wheel-drive system and Jetour’s XWD traction management software work in tandem to provide good grip. There are 6 drive modes and a Toyota-inspired ‘CRAWL’ mode, which can be activated to tackle difficult terrain with greater ease.

    Conclusion

The lack of rear airbags and blind-spot warning makes the COM variant of the Jetour T2 all but useless. These are essential safety features, and the lack of which simply cannot be ignored. This leaves us with the fully-loaded LUX variant, which doesn’t come cheap.

Jetour’s comprehensive 6-year unlimited mileage warranty does weigh in, though. If you must buy a new Jetour T2, your best bet is to get the Luxury variant. It offers loads of feel-good features and safety nannies. Just make sure you have your negotiation skills on point once you’re at the dealership!
