All-new BMW iX3 Prototypes To Hit Production Soon

Saudi Arabia : The latest technologies uplift the driving pleasure to new heights.

• BMW’s Panoramic iDrive makes driving easier by providing clear directions and a smooth user experience. 
• The latest BMW iX3 50 xDrive can travel up to 800km on a full charge (WLTP), with a range of over 350km in just 10 minutes of charging. 
• The advanced Heart of Joy computer and BMW Dynamic Performance Control software improve the car’s driving power and make it feel livelier.

Prototypes of the new BMW iX3, part of the first Neue Klasse series, are nearing the end of testing in France. These electric Sports Activity Vehicles will be shown to the public for the first time at the IAA Mobility event in Munich in September 2025. Production will begin later that year at BMW’s new factory in Debrecen, Hungary.

BMW Panoramic iDrive – Redefining “Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road”

BMW Panoramic iDrive, running under BMW Operating System X, offers customizable, intelligent driver support, and software updates, redefining BMW's "Hands on the Wheel, Eyes on the Road" motto. The BMW Panoramic iDrive combines several features to keep the driver informed and safe. 

• Panoramic Vision - Projects vital data onto a black surface across the windscreen, giving a clear view of important info. 
• 3D Head-Up Display - Shows navigation and auto-driving details right in the driver’s eye line. 
• Central Display with sleek matrix backlight - Positioned perfectly near the steering wheel. 
• Shy-tech multi-function steering - Features illuminated buttons that light up only when needed. Its textured surface and haptic feedback make it easy to operate without looking away.

Next-gen electric powertrains and charging tech 

The BMW iX3 is the first to feature Gen6 technology, featuring a high-voltage battery with 20% higher energy density than previous prismatic cells. This technology allows 400kW maximum charging and WLTP over 350km in 10 minutes. The BMW iX3 offers bidirectional charging functions, including Vehicle-to-Load, to-Home, and Vehicle-to-Grid, and features a new BMW Wallbox for 19.2kW charging and discharging.

When a client approaches a recognized charging point, the AI-assisted intelligent charging flap automatically opens and closes. It also recognizes when a driver plans to stop to charge the vehicle.

Heart of Joy - Elevating BMW Driving Experience to New Heights

The BMW Neue Klasse's "superbrain" Heart of Joy, integrated with the Dynamic Performance Control software, enhances driving dynamics by processing information ten times faster than previous systems. This results in more precise directional stability, consistent cornering characteristics, and intuitive steering.

• The powertrain and braking work in harmony to decelerate the vehicle, with recuperation being used across the speed range and in 98 per cent of cases, without friction brakes.
• BMW Group has integrated a rule-based assistance system with an AI-based system, enhancing driver assistance in challenging road situations. The Superbrain of Automated Driving pooled customer functions for 20 times faster processing, utilizing advanced sensors, software, processors, and mobile communications technology for automated driving and parking functions.
• The BMW iX3 offers features like lane change warning, road priority warning, safe exit, and assisted view. It also includes a motorway assistant with automatic lane change, which assists drivers in complex driving situations in urban areas. The assistant can automatically brake at red traffic lights or emit an auditory indication when the lights turn green. It also stays operational even when the motorway switches automatically.
• Symbiotic driver assistance allows seamless interaction between tech and driver, enabling cooperative steering and cooperative braking. The driver can adjust the system's responses without causing the assistant to be switched off.
• The parking functions feature AI-based assistance, space recognition, and manoeuvre planning, enhancing the parking experience and preventing vehicle damage.

Neue Klasse BMW iX3 features AI-based, smart, and update-compatible innovations, including advanced driver assistance systems and BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The powerful BMW Cloud allows for over-the-air updates aftermarket launch.

BMW has filed numerous patent applications for Neue Klasse technologies, including projection technology, Heart of Joy control functions, high-voltage battery management, electric motors, and zonal vehicle electrical systems.
