What's Missing
The major thing that the Nissan Tekton lacks is the availability of the Diesel and the Hybrid powertrain. Even though its corporate twin, the Renault Duster, gets the hybrid powertrain, which debuted last year. Diesel has its own advantages for Saudi buyers due to its superior torque, highway range, and cheaper fuel costs, and the Tekton misses out on these.
What This Means on Saudi Roads
The 1.3-litre with the DCT is good for buyers who are looking for daily Riyadh to Dammam or other highway runs. It gives enough torque and feels very confident to overtake, along with keeping the cabin cool. The 1.0-litre manual is better suited to city driving, giving you a relaxed ride experience.
Variant-Wise Powertrain Breakdown
Tekton is launched in the following variants in the indian market. The GCC-spec variants' engine allocation will be revealed once it comes to Saudi Arabia. Here are the variants according to the global launch in India.

Six Variants on Offer
- Visia
- Visia Plus
- Acenta
- N-Connecta
- Tekna
- Tekna Plus
Which Variants Get Which Engine
The entry-level Visia and Visia Plus only get the base 1.0-litre manual, with no automatic option. The Acenta adds the 1.3-litre engine too but with the DCT automatic only. And the N-Connecta and upwards are getting the full 1.0-litre manual, 1.3-litre manual, and 1.3-litre DCT. The top Tekna Plus drops the 1.3-litre manual again, giving only the 1.0-litre manual or the 1.3-litre DCT.

What This Means for the Saudi Market
Here is what these engine options bring to the Saudi buyers:
- Highway cruising ability on long intercity drives
- Air conditioning load in peak summer heat
- Fuel economy and running costs, where the 1.0-litre has a real advantage in city use

All of these benefits make the Nissan Tekton a great choice for buyers who want to prioritise fuel economy and city driving with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol manual. And the other 163 PS 1.3-litre turbo-petrol, available with a DCT automatic, delivers strong highway performance. So if you are interested, then register on their site and wait for the launch.
