The new BAIC EU5 Plus is expected to be available in two variant choices:

• R500
• R600

Engine and Performance

The EU5 Plus comes in two variants: the R500 and R600. Both come with a Ternary lithium battery that produces 161 hp and 240 Nm torque with a top speed of 150 kmph. However, the two differ in range as the R500 offers 416km on a full charge, and the R600 delivers up to 501km. When driven at 60 kmph, the range increases dramatically, with the R500 and R600 offering 520km and 625km, respectively.

The battery can be charged 30-80 per cent via a standard charger that takes around 8.5 hours in R500 and 10 hours in R600. Fast charging capability is equal in both variants, as it takes around 30 minutes for a 30-80 per cent charge.

Safety Features

The EU5 Plus is equipped with many safety features for added protection. It includes multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, and ESC with traction control. The car also has emergency brake assist, hill hold and hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring, and cruise control.

In addition, it has a rear parking sensor, a reversing camera, and a warning system for pedestrians at low speeds. The car automatically unlocks after a crash and has automatic emergency braking. Other safety features include warnings for pedestrians and potential collisions, adaptive cruise control, blind spot alerts, motion detection, an around-view monitor, and lane departure warning.
