New Toyota Corolla Cross and GR SPORT Versions Revealed

Saudi Arabia : The latest updates bring some character to the car while GR SPORT adds a sportier look and feel.

The Japanese automaker Toyota has unveiled the latest Corolla Cross with a new GR SPORT version. The new Corolla Cross blends modern style with smart technology and hybrid efficiency, all in a true SUV form. The GR SPORT trim comes with several design tweaks and handling upgrades.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Engine and Specifications

Toyota Corolla Cross is available in two hybrid options: Hybrid 140 offered with a 1.8L engine and electric motor producing a combined output of 138hp and Hybrid 200 with 2.0L engine and electric motor combo developing 194hp.

The Corolla Cross GR SPORT features intelligent all-wheel-drive (AWD-i) with Snow Extra mode that improves stability and control when driving on snow-covered roads. Using the rear motor, the Snow Extra mode helps keep the vehicle steady during acceleration, braking, turning, and lane changes, providing smooth and confident driving in winter conditions. 

Sport Mode, on the other hand, offers quicker throttle response by raising the engine idling speed while lifting off the throttle, it enhances deceleration for a sportier brake feel. The suspension and power steering have been tuned while paddle shifters add to the fun element.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Design Tweaks

• The car comes with a new stylish look specially created for European customers. The honeycomb front grille adds a sleek, elegant touch and helps improve airflow to the engine. 
• On the High grade, new adaptive high beam (AHS) technology provides better visibility. The centre lamp and inner lens are highlighted by LED light guides, giving a bright, even glow and a high-quality look. 
• The rear lamps now have fins that boost aerodynamics, helping the car stay stable and easier to control. 
• The 18-inch alloy wheels are strong and give the vehicle a more confident stance. The GR SPORT has 19-inch wheels.

2026 Toyota Corolla Cross Interior Refinements

• The spacious interior now features a fresh, modern look. It includes a new gear shift knob and a larger centre console. Practical updates improve convenience, such as extra space for smartphones, a sliding storage box, and a redesigned cup holder. 
• Wireless charging is now standard across all models. Connectivity for Android devices has been greatly enhanced, with charging speeds now 1.5 times faster. It also now offers a performance level similar to Apple CarPlay for both Android and Apple users.
• The vehicle gets a 10.5-inch Toyota smart connect touchscreen multimedia system. Higher trims include options, such as ambient lighting, a heated steering wheel and heated seats.
• The use of special damping materials reduces noise from rain and road sounds. Extra insulation added around the rear vents helps cut noise and vibrations for rear passengers. On higher-trim models, a new three-layer dash silencer lowers engine noise.
• Safety and convenience have been elevated via Toyota T-Mate, which offers over-the-air updates, along with the third-gen Toyota Safety Sense, which provides advanced driving and parking assistance systems.

2026 Toyota Corolla Price in Saudi Arabia

The price of the new Corolla Cross hasn’t been released yet. Expect the price range a bit higher than the current model.
