    Hyundai INITIUM: Powertrain configuration

The INITIUM concept is powered by a single electric motor producing 204hp, a notable 40hp increase over the Nexo FCEV, and is designed to deliver a more refined driving experience at high speeds.

Hyundai is aiming for a range of over 650km on a single fill-up, matching the Nexo's official range of 666 km. The efficiency is courtesy of the large hydrogen tanks and low-rolling resistance tyres.

Furthermore, the concept features a vehicle-to-load function, enabling the battery to supply power to external devices.

Hyundai INITIUM: Exterior design & features

The Initium concept also marks the debut of Hyundai's new design philosophy, dubbed "Art of Steel", which underscores resilience and safety in response to growing demand for SUVs.

A distinctive plus-shaped graphic on the front daytime running LEDs and taillights is a key visual identifier for Hyundai's hydrogen-powered models, setting them apart from battery-electric and internal combustion engine vehicles.

The Initium concept's 21-inch wheels enhance its overall design aesthetic, while the rugged roof rack adds a practical touch, catering to individuals who split their time between city streets and outdoor adventures. The concept's sleek roofline, more sloping than other Hyundai SUVs, highlights the importance placed on aerodynamics in its design.

Hyundai INITIUM: Cabin comfort & safety features

The INITIUM is expected to come with best-in-class comfort and convenience. Hyundai hasn’t revealed much about the interiors but it did say that the car will come with nine airbags, driver monitoring through an in-cabin camera, and advanced safety features like highway drive assist. The car has been reinforced with a multi-skeleton structure at the front and the sides.

It is also expected to come with modern-day amenities like automatic air conditioning, adjustable driver’s seat, wireless charging, digital instrument and touchscreen infotainment, among others.

In conclusion, the production version of the all-new Hyundai INITIUM will write a new chapter in Hyundai’s portfolio and will open up more competition in this space.
