2026 Toyota Tundra Now Gets New Exterior Paint and Interior Tweaks!

• The 3.4-liter twin-turbo V6 and a hybrid twin-turbo V6 remain unchanged.

Toyota has introduced the 2026 version of its Tundra pickup truck. It combines tough capability, plush comfort, and modern technology to stay a top choice for drivers who want versatility and solid performance.

Interior upgrades

Upgraded Interior in Luxurious Trim The top-tier Capstone version now features a fresh interior with Shale Premium Textured leather seats, adding a luxury feel inside. The Limited model will switch to leather seats in both black and grey, showing off a new pattern. Black leather seats will have white stitching, while grey seats will be finished with black stitching.

The TRD Pro can now be ordered with optional ISO Dynamic seats, similar to those in the Tacoma TRD Pro, for extra comfort during off-road adventures. Power running boards will be available on the Platinum and 1794 TRD Off-Road models, making it easier to get in and out. 

Rear passengers will find it more relaxing with air vents now added to double-cab models. All models with single-zone climate control will get a smart flow management system, helping to keep the cabin comfortable.

Exterior upgrades

All Tundra models will now feature a 122-liter fuel tank, replacing the smaller tanks from before. Every vehicle will also come with a tow hitch and a 7/4 pin connector as standard equipment, no matter the trim level. The 2026 Toyota Tundra introduces a new colour called Wave Maker, exclusive to TRD Pro models. The SX Package now includes 20-inch wheels.

Updated Multimedia System 

The Tundra will now come with the new multimedia system found in the Sequoia. This system can be operated on an 8-inch or, as an option, a 14-inch touchscreen. It offers clearer sight, easier touch control, and voice commands for a simple user experience. The Intelligent Assistant allows drivers to say 'Hey Toyota' to activate voice commands. 

They can then ask to find directions, locate points of interest, change the radio, or adjust cabin temperatures. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also supported.

Engine and Performance

The Tundra offers strong engine choices, including a twin-turbo V6 and a hybrid twin-turbo V6. Both work with a 10-speed automatic transmission that has smart control features. This transmission includes a sequential shift mode, settings for climbing or descending hills, and modes for towing and hauling.

The twin-turbo V6, called i-FORCE, features double overhead camshafts and 24 valves. It also uses Dual VVTi technology to produce 389 hp and 649 Nm of torque. The i-FORCE MAX hybrid adds up to 437 hp and 790 Nm of torque.

The hybrid powertrain combines the twin-turbo V6 with an electric motor and a clutch inside the bell housing. The motor helps boost power through the transmission. The hybrid system also helps with starting the engine, EV driving, electric support, and energy regeneration.

Off-road upgrades

The Tundra TRD Pro and models with the TRD Off-Road package come with many off-road upgrades. These upgrades make it easier to explore rough terrain. Multi-Terrain Select allows the driver to adjust settings for different grounds, helping control wheel spin. 

Crawl Control is a low-speed cruise function that keeps the vehicle moving slowly in rough areas, so the driver can focus on steering. Downhill Assist Control helps control speed on steep slopes.

TRD Pro models and those with the TRD Off-Road package also come with a locking rear differential. This feature improves traction when driving in 4WD Low. The Multi-Terrain Monitor is also standard on these models. It lets the driver see around the vehicle using camera views of the front, rear, and sides. Simply press a button on the console to view the images on the centre screen.

Safety tech

All Tundra models are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 as standard. This safety system includes features such as a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, full-speed radar cruise control, lane departure alert with steering help, lane tracing assist, and road sign assist. 

It also has automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, parking assist with automatic braking, and more.

2026 Toyota Tundra Price

The price for the 2026 Toyota Tundra now starts at $43,355 for the SR Double Cab. The range goes up to $82,895 for the top-tier Capstone model.
