New Nissan Magnite Achieves Impressive 5-Star Rating from Global NCAP

Saudi Arabia : The new Magnite is now being shipped to the Middle East, Africa and Southeast Asia.

The brand-new Nissan Magnite has achieved a 5-star overall safety score from the Global New Car Assessment Program (GNCAP). The new Magnite is now available in Saudi Arabia and across the Middle East. The crossover achieved a perfect 5 stars for adult protection and 3 stars for child safety. This combination resulted in an overall 5-star passenger safety rating.

Richard Woods, CEO of Global NCAP, was pleased to see Nissan's efforts in terms of improved safety performance. He said that a 5-star rating matters to buyers. The achievement shows the brand’s commitment to the process with the NCAP and getting fruitful results in a short period.

Outstanding score across categories

Magnite went through rigorous testing, including tests for features like adult occupant protection, child safety, and safety assist. The car showed excellent performance across the categories, demonstrating its ability in terms of robust build quality, advanced safety features, and innovative design.

Leon Dorssers, Nissan's Senior Vice President for Commercial Operations in the AMIEO region, stated that safety is the top priority of the brand. The teams worked hard on design, engineering, and production. Earning a 5-star Global NCAP rating is a great reward. The new Magnite is truly outstanding and its safety features are one of its many strengths.

Over 55 safety features

Nissan said the brand-new Nissan Magnite would first be sold in the Middle East, making it the first area to get the version with the steering wheel on the left. The car was shown off at an event in Riyadh in March 2025 and is now being shipped to Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. 

It has more than 40 standard safety features, such as 6 airbags, a stronger frame using a lot of strong steel (over 440MPa), an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake-force distribution, vehicle dynamic control, and more.

Global NCAP's crash tests check how well cars protect people in front and side crashes, and also the electronic stability control (ESC). To get the best safety rating, the cars are also required to be tested for pedestrian and side pole crashes. The Magnite's cool design, over 20 features that are the first or best in its class, and more than 55 safety features make it a great pick for a small SUV.

All versions of the car now include standard safety features like three-point seatbelts for every seat, seatbelt warnings, child safety locks, ISOFIX for child seats, and rear parking sensors in the back, making each trip safer and more comfortable. Other important safety features are side and curtain airbags and a 360-degree camera.

Performance and comfort features

The compact crossover is powered by a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a CVT transmission. It also features a 7-inch digital driver display, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote start, and a cooled glovebox.
