Design & Quality

The Amarok’s interior has been improved significantly in some of the recent upgrades by Volkswagen. You feel the premium and luxury quotient resembling that of a modern SUV, and so the comforts are well taken care of. The cabin design is not over the top, but simple yet functional. There is a newly designed 12-inch touchscreen with MIB4 software and voice control, integrated with a 10.25-inch digital cluster. The soft-touch plastics, fabric or leather seats (PanAmericana and above), and red stitching make it look sporty and elegant. The ambient lighting with 30 colours that make the cabin lavish. We are impressed with the build quality, which is solid, and can easily handle KSA’s heat.

Front Seat

The front bucket seats are quite cosy to offer the best possible comfort, even if you end up spending a lot of time inside the cabin driving for long trips. There is manual and power, depending on the trim, with reasonable lumbar support. The heated and ventilated seats (Aventura) help you take on extreme weather conditions, while the height-adjustable driver’s seat is perfect with a commanding view that improves safety and eases driving.

Electronic Parking Brake

An electronic parking brake with hill-start assist at the centre console helps in parking or on inclines, or in tight spaces. It is integrated with Hill Descent Control, which boosts off-road confidence.

Rear Seat

The bench type rear seats are quite cosy, soft with sufficient leg, head, and shoulder room for three average size passengers to sit. To make sure passengers are comfortable, features like dedicated AC vents, USB-C ports, and a centre armrest are provided. 

AC Vents

It feels calm and responsive, which is attributed to the higher output and fine-tuned gearing. The drive modes like Sport make a lot of difference with sharper engine, gearbox, and throttle response, engaging driving, while Comfort mode turns long trips into a relaxed trip. What is also noticeable is high-speed stability supported by accurate steering and near-perfect road grip.

Ride and Handling

The McPherson front suspension and torsion beam rear, combined with the 4MOTION AWD and torque vectoring, are in perfect synch to offer a well-balanced and secure driving experience across Kingdom’s different roads, be it city flyovers to winding hill roads, or congested lanes in town. The firm yet adaptable ride quality is achieved by absorbing most bumps reasonably well while keeping the chassis controlled, which enhances the driver’s confidence with or without a load in the bed.
