The Tasman is supposed to be Kia’s entry into the lucrative and popular pickup market. To make an impression in the already crowded pickup market in Saudi Arabia, the company has developed a nice pickup, the Tasman. I got to see it here which was on display, while I didn’t really go crazy with the design, which according to me is quite boring. However, my impression of the specs is something different, because it is a powerful pickup with a great cabin and a lot of features. So, overall a good option for customers who want to experiment with a pickup.

The Tasman is the first attempt of the Korean brand to influence the Pikup market, and I think they have got a good product in Tasman to make a buzz in this segment. I have got a glimpse of this pickup, and honestly, it looks a little different from the usual pickups, however, a radical approach is not bad for a company trying to make a dent in this segment. The 2.5L engine, 8-speed auto, payload of 3500 kg and dual cabin with nice driving positions and number of features makes it a wholesome.

Early this year I saw some spy shots of this Tasman pickup from KIA, now it is unveiled recently. Overall, the Tasman pickup is KIA’s entry into the mid-size pickup segment which is quite popular globally. The newly showcased Tasman points towards a strong, bolder exterior design, a more capable engine and as one might expect a lot of off-roading elements fitted into it. Now it will be interesting how the commercial model of the Tasma comes, which it will be available for retail sales, and the entry of the Korean brand.
