Ford EVEREST Expert Review

The Ford Everest is a three-row SUV that finds its origins in the reliable Ranger pickup platform. Over the years, it has evolved into a highly capable midsize off-roader, positioned in Ford’s lineup between the compact Territory and the full-size Explorer. In Saudi Arabia, the Everest, within a short period, gained popularity among families and adventure enthusiasts who prefer strong, body-on-frame SUVs for daily commute, highway driving and desert trekking. While no significant overhaul has been introduced recently, the Everest continues to receive subtle facelifts and incremental upgrades; it remains relevant and competitive in the booming Saudi SUV market.

Interior

Design & Quality

Dashboard View of EVEREST

The cabin is a combination of simplicity, practicality along with durability and modern design elements. Right from the soft-touch materials and ambient lighting that make the cabin a lot premium and also give you that upscale vibe for night drives. The 12-inch touchscreen (Limited) and 8-inch digital cluster look bright in KSA’s glare, supported by wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.

Then come the ventilated seats to provide relief from heat, and leather upholstery (higher trims) that saves the interior from sand and wear and tear.  The B&O audio defines excellent music and entertainment, and the panoramic sunroof, something as standard these days, gives you that openness and a lot of light.  If you compare the Everest with its direct rivals, the Japanese-made Fortuner, it offers more third-row space and a quieter ride. And, you're assured of the solid, rattle-free build and plush ride over rough roads, which makes it an excellent pick as a premium, family-friendly choice.

Front Seat

Ford Everest Seating

An SUV like the Everest takes care of every element, and the front seat is one big aspect where you would probably spend most of your time. And so you get plush seats which are also great, with 8-way power adjustments (XLT and above) and memory functions allow you to fit them as per personal choice. The features like heating and ventilation help ease KSA’s extreme temperatures, while superior lumbar support makes you less fatigued on long drives. The height-adjustable driver’s seat is nothing to complain about; rather, it provides excellent road visibility, and the leather-wrapped steering wheel features are nice, handy to operate with controls for audio, cruise, and phone. All of this ensures you drive in peace and enjoy every moment in the car.

Electronic Parking Brake

Ford EVEREST Gear Shifter

The console-mounted electronic parking brake with auto-hold is easy and convenient, highly useful for rollback on hills or in stop-and-go traffic. It engages automatically, increases that extra safety and parking becomes a lot easier, especially when the space is tight, quite underrated but useful features.

Rear Seat

Ford Everest Third Row Seating

The second row is another key highlight simply due to the amount of space, comfort and convenience is taken care of. With sliding and reclining seats that comfortably fit three average-sized adults, with ample legroom for long journeys. The Rear AC vents and USB ports are added for additional comfort and connectivity of passengers, and it is a three-row SUV, but frankly, the third row is suited for kids or smaller adults or extra cargo space. It has that flexibility families will prefer, though the middle seat feels slightly firmer on extended road trips.

AC Vents

Ford Everest AC Vents

The standard dual-zone climate control with rear vents is something you will love for sure, because it makes the cabin cool instantly. When you're in summer, this is a must. It can be voice-activated for hands-free convenience, and ensures consistent cooling across all rows, something you would like as which makes everyone comfortable even during intense heatwaves, with no uneven hot spots to disrupt the ride.

Storage Options

Storage is something families are very keen on, and carrying everything you wish on daily trips or long road adventures is a must. And here you will find a lot of storage and smartly designed, including a deep centre console, door pockets that hold 1L bottles, and a cooled glovebox perfect so your drinks are chilled in the heat. Similarly, the rear armrests include cupholders and under-floor compartments to store snacks, tools, or valuables, making the Everest ideal for family use or long road trips.

Armrest

Padded front and rear centre armrests are those features that make you feel not just comfortable but also allow you to store some smaller items. These features improve comfort during long highway stretches or stop-and-go city commutes.

Charging Options

Ford Everest Charging Ports

As one might expect, there are multiple USB ports, 12V sockets, and wireless charging (XLT and above) that are helpful for devices to be powered while driving away.  at the rear USB ports to ensure kids or adults have connectivity for their phone and charging too, eliminating worries about low batteries on long journeys.

Boot Space

Ford Everest Trunk

Being a large, three-row SUV, the Everest has a bigger boot, measuring 259 litres, behind the third row, which should be enough for everyday needs, be it shopping or small luggage. With seats folded, it is expandable to 2,010 litres, whenever extra luggage requirements arise. The power-fold third row and cargo management system keep items secure, while the hands-free liftgate makes it easy to use the boot, especially useful whenever you’re loading heavy luggage, providing some extra convenience for busy families.

The high 226 mm ground clearance easily tackles potholes, gravel paths, and light dunes, further cementing its adaptability for city and off-road driving. Ford has given it aerodynamic tweaks, including a sleeker roofline, which enhances fuel efficiency on long highway stretches.

Front

Full Front View of EVEREST

The Everest’s front has a wide honeycomb grille which, to a large extent, dominates the design elements. The C-clamp LED headlights with adaptive beams add to the visual and also ensure excellent visibility during foggy mornings or dark desert nights, enhancing safety. The stylish daytime running lights up the contemporary vibe, while functional air intakes ensure faster cooling of the engine. The visibly prominent Ford emblem is one big attraction of the front, which highlights durability and trust, something that resonates with the Kingdom's buyers who always value strong reliability.

Side

EVEREST Medium Angle Front View

The side profile cements the Everest’s strong and sporty body language, further lifted by the wheelbase and wide wheel arches, underscoring its off-road capabilities. The roof rails are perfect for camping gear or luggage during those family road trips, while power-folding mirrors with integrated puddle lamps appear elegant, combining modern outlook with the toughness for KSA's challenging trails.

Alloy Wheels

EVEREST Wheel

Since this is a big SUV, depending on the variants, Ford offers 18-inch to 21-inch alloy wheel sizes which not just look attractive and add to the overall design but also ensure smooth, comfortable and fuel-efficient running. They also help in better stability as well as overall safety.

Rear

Full Rear View of Ford EVEREST

A power liftgate (Limited) eases access to the boot, and you can simply load the luggage without much effort. There are dual exhaust tips, which look sleek and provide a better-looking sporty feel. The rear spoiler is better for aerodynamics, and integrated wipers help in keeping the rear window clear during dust storms or rain, ensuring safety.

City Performance

Ford Everest Cover Image

If you’re going to use the Everest mostly in the city, then that's good news, as the 2.3L EcoBoost engine gives huge confidence with a solid 296 hp of power, which makes your city commute smooth and easy. The 10-speed automatic is so effortless to shift that you won't notice it even in stop-and-go traffic. The steering feels very easy in Normal mode, which is a comfort when dealing with tight parking spots. The diesel variant too is known for its strong low-end torque but can feel sluggish when fully loaded, and so not everyone feels great about that; however, features such as the 360-degree camera and parking sensors are a lifesaver in congested, twisty and narrow roads.

Highway Performance

Ford Everest Cover Image

On the highways, which are mostly open, Everest is fun to drive. With a whopping  420 Nm torque from the 2.3L turbo’s allows you to overtake confidently and effortlessly, with a 0-100 km/h time of about 7.5 seconds. The diesel’s better fuel efficiency comes at the expense of pace, making it rather ideal for relaxed cruising than quick acceleration. The adaptive Cruise Control with lane centring takes highway fatigue off your shoulders, something very necessary when going on those long road trips. The cabin stays impressively quiet, keeping road noise out so everyone can relax, while the 4WD system keeps stability in crosswinds or rain.

Ride and Handling

Ford Everest Cover Image

Everest is known for its performance, highly regarded and well-established, and so it successfully strikes a great balance between toughness and comfort. Its suspension is tuned superbly to take all types of uneven, tough roads or potholes without jolting you around. You also get to feel that the composed cornering, and engage Sport mode and the steering sharpens up, providing the much-needed fun on relatively less busy city roads. The Highway drives are comfy and fatigue-free, with 4WD offering sure-footed grip in gravel or wet conditions. The cabin has great NVH, which means you are protected from tire, wind road noise, though you might hear a light hum above 100 km/h. Compared to highly popular competitors like the Fortuner, the Everest feels more refined off-road, and the 226 mm ground clearance manages sand dunes remarkably, but keep in mind, this SUV is not a hardcore off-roader.
