New Electric Range Rover Revealed: Luxury SUV Goes Fully Electric

Saudi Arabia: Range Rover has detailed the specifications for its first all-electric  model, confirming performance, range, and off-road capability figures. Range Rover claims to sacrifice nothing over the traditional model and offers a near-silent cabin with the brand’s foundational off-road credentials and a usable real-world range. Here is what the brand has confirmed.

The silent cabin breakthrough

The brand states this is the quietest Range Rover cabin ever produced, a deliberate focus for the electric model. It is achieved with the Active Noise Cancellation system paired with acoustic laminated glass. It does not just remove the sound of the powertrain, but isolates occupants from road and wind noise. Further innovation is found in the drivetrain controls. A single-pedal driving system is integrated directly with the Terrain Response system. This allows for precise control on difficult surfaces without the driver needing to move their foot to the brake pedal, a functional benefit for controlled off-road manoeuvres. It’s a piece of technology that demonstrates the EV platform can enhance, not just replace, traditional capability.

Real-world range and charging

According to the release, the vehicle offers up to 600 km of range and can add 220 km in 10 minutes. It isn’t just about the commute, but the weekend trip from Dammam to Bahrain without anxiety. These numbers make such journeys viable. The battery itself is composed of 344 Nickel Manganese Cobalt cells in a double-stack formation. A full 0-100% charge at home using a 22 kW AC wall box takes under seven hours, suitable for overnight replenishment. For those with a more common 7 kW AC unit, the time extends to just under 19 hours. It is compatible with the 350 kW DC rapid chargers for fast charging. This could give you 220 km of range in just 10 minutes, and a 10-80% charge in 22 minutes.

Off-road durability redefined

The vehicle features an advanced Cabin Air Purification Pro system with PM 2.5 filtration.
