Geely Galaxy Reveals Starshine 6 Hybrid Sedan with Advanced Tech

Saudi Arabia : Geely Galaxy has just unveiled the Starshine 6 hybrid sedan. It has a blend of modern design, extended range of electric, and advanced driver assistance.

Chinese automaker Geely Galaxy has taken the wraps off its new plug-in hybrid sedan, the Starshine 6. The mid-size model combines fuel efficiency, electric capability, and smart features to meet rising global demand for eco-friendly sedans.

With its latest design identity and advanced hybrid system, the Starshine 6 is aimed at customers in KSA and other markets seeking affordable yet high-tech options.

Exterior Design and Features

The Starshine 6 introduces Geely’s “Galaxy Wave” styling. At the front, a chrome-plated grille with vertical strips creates a bold first impression. Slim LED headlights pair with a connected strip taillight, giving the sedan a sleek and modern profile.

Customers may choose 16- or 17-inch wheels, while a panoramic sunroof adds openness to the cabin. The rear features a sporty roof spoiler and dual-tone bumper in silver or black, improving aerodynamics and offering a touch of sportiness.

Hybrid Powertrain and Performance

At the core of the Starshine 6 is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four engine producing 82 kW (110 hp). This unit works with Geely’s EM-i 2.0 AI Hybrid system, which integrates the petrol motor with an electric motor for a combined peak of up to 175 kW (235 hp).

The hybrid sedan comes with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs of 8.5 kWh or 17 kWh, supplied by CALB and Rept Battero Energy. Depending on the battery size, the car offers an all-electric driving range of up to 100 km.

Efficiency and Emissions

Geely reports that the Starshine 6 achieves fuel use between 3.75 and 3.85 litres per 100 km, depending on driving conditions.

The engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 47.26%, which places it among the best in its segment. This makes the Starshine 6 attractive for buyers who want both cost savings and reduced emissions without losing daily usability.

Safety and Smart Technologies

The Starshine 6 includes a package of Level 2 driver assistance functions.

• Front and rear radars with 360-degree panoramic cameras.
• 15.4-inch central touchscreen with multi-speaker audio.
• Ventilated and heated synthetic leather seats for added comfort.

Comparison with Other Geely Models

Compared with the Galaxy L6 and A7, the Starshine 6 sits in the mid-size segment but offers an edge with its 100 km electric range.

The Galaxy L6 provides 70 km, while the A7 achieves up to 150 km. Dimensionally, the Starshine 6 measures 4806 mm in length, 1886 mm in width, and 1490 mm in height, positioning it neatly between the smaller L6 and larger A7.

Price and Market Outlook

Geely Galaxy has indicated that the Starshine 6 will be priced below the Starshine 8 and Galaxy A7, making it a more affordable hybrid option while still providing similar advanced technologies.

Production will take place at the company’s Jingzhou plant in China, with the model expected to reach showrooms soon.
