Chery Fengyun T9: The New Family Hybrid SUV Now Arriving in KSA

Saudi Arabia : Last year, the Fengyun T9 made its official entry into the Chinese market at an attractive price. This medium size SUV plug-in hybrid version available in four variants in 5 and 7 seat configuration. While there is no official announcement of its launch in Saudi Arabia, it is expected to arrive by mid-2025.

The Chery Fengyun T9 has quite an attractive exterior design comprising a closed grille design adorned with a straight waterfall banner decoration and an attractive Chery logo. Similarly, the rear design looks quite similar to the Chery Tiggo 9. The interior is simple yet quite neat and clean with a 15.6-inch floating 2.5K central control screen, a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel, and a D-shaped steering wheel, supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The center console offers a 50W wireless charging panel, a cup holder, and a rotary knob. The cabin is further equipped with interesting features such as a HUD, a 14-speaker Sony audio system, 256-color ambient lighting, a driver monitoring system, and an AI voice assistant. 

The Chinese variants come with a plug-in hybrid system, including a fifth-generation ACTECO 1.5TGDI hybrid engine and an electric motor, attached to a DHT or 3-speed DHT depending on the trim. The engine has a maximum power of 115 kW (154 hp) and a peak torque of 220 Nm while the electric motor outputs 150 kW (201 hp) and 310 Nm. The 0 – 100 km/h acceleration time is 7 seconds.

Furthermore, its ternary lithium battery has a capacity of 19.43 kWh, providing a 120 km CLTC pure electric cruising range and more than 1,400 km official WLTC comprehensive range. It takes 20 minutes to fast charge time to 30% to 80%.

The Fengyun T9 SUV is well-equipped with robust powertrain and sophisticated features and technologies. It is expected that Chery will introduce the same model to the Saudi Arabia market as sold in China, providing a highly appealing and competitive SUV for buyers in KSA.
