BMW M GmbH, in order to honour the nine-time motorcycle world champion Valentino Rossi’s 46th birthday, has unveiled a special edition that captures both engineering excellence and racing soul.

They call it the BMW M4 CS Edition VR46, and it is a rare machine that is more than just a car. It is a statement of passion, legacy, and design that bears the global star’s iconic number, 46. Rossi directly crafts it, and each unit will bring exclusivity and a deep connection to the history of motorsport.

Exclusive Paintwork and Craftsmanship That Stands Apart

The BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 comes in two special looks: Sport and Style. The Sport variant features Marina Bay Blue metallic with a large “46” in Tanzanite Blue metallic, along with yellow highlights on the grille, wheels, and brake calipers.

The Style edition has Frozen Tanzanite Blue with Frozen Marina Bay Blue for the “46” motif. Both versions have carbon fibre roofs that display the VR46 logo and Rossi’s signature, all crafted with precision at BMW’s Landshut facility.

At BMW Group Plant Dingolfing, they take each car from the production line to undergo a special paint process involving stencils, hand-sanding, masking, and varnishing. The exterior of each vehicle requires around 20 hours of expert handwork to complete. Talk of blending automation and artistry.

Meticulous Assembly with VR46 Details Throughout

On the inside, they dress the car in Night Blue with vibrant yellow accents. The M Carbon bucket seats feature Sao Paulo Yellow touches, while stitching and steering details also reflect Rossi’s signature colour.

Each car comes with a numbered carbon console badge marked “1/46,” and they boldly display the VR46 logo on the headrests and door sills. Every element, from the body panels to the cockpit, signals a tribute to Rossi’s legacy.
