2027 Mitsubishi Pajero Is Coming Back: Digital Triple-Gauge Pod Confirmed and Saudi Arabia Is in the First Wave

Saudi Arabia: Mitsubishi Pajero is making a proper comeback in 2027. Not as a rebadged crossover, not as a soft-roader with the Pajero name on the bootlid. But it will be coming as a proper 4x4 seven-seater body-on-frame SUV with vertical LED headlights, a boxy silhouette, and flared wheel arches. And a recently confirmed Digital Triple-Gauge Pod. Mitsubishi has released a second teaser image this week confirming the return of the instrument. But this time it will be fully digital. 

The Middle East, including Saudi Arabia, is going to be the priority market for the new Pajero. 

Why the Triple-Pod Multi MeterMatters

A triple-pod digital display shown in the latest teaser image shows individual dials showing altimeter, roll meter, and pitch meter readings. The old Pajero also carried a triple-pod multi-meter on top of the central dashboard, displaying an altimeter, fuel gauge, and battery health.

This gives the new Pajero dashboard a traditional look. But the analogue dials are replaced with a digital interface. The move to altimeter, roll meter, and pitch meter in the 2027 model is a meaningful upgrade over the old setup. Knowing the vehicle's tilt angle and altitude in real time is genuinely useful off-road information when driving on the Wadi Al Dawasir, the Asir highlands near Abha, or the rocky tracks around Hail. 

What We Know About the Design

So far, Mitsubishi has released two teasers that paint a clear picture of where the new Pajero is headed. The first teaser showed the front lighting setup, which is now vertical LED headlights and T-shaped daytime running lights. This makes a strong visual statement resonating with the original Pajero's upright character.  

Pajero Expected Specs 

The new Pajero is most likely to be launched initially with a 2.4-litre turbo-diesel engine from the Mitsubishi Triton pickup truck. It is also most likely to be based on the same platform as the Triton. Here are the expected specifications:

The new Pajero is expected to be launched in Autumn 2027. And it will be coming to the Middle East by the end of 2026 or early 2027. More details are expected ahead of the Autumn 2026 global reveal. The boxy body, the vertical headlights, the proper 4x4 system as standard, the diesel engine from a platform proven in the Saudi market, and the returning triple-gauge Multi Meter it has the potential to make a great comeback.
