GAC Launches AION EV Brand

SAUDI ARABIA : The AION functions as the GAC’s electric arm. It became the 3rd largest electric vehicle brand in China and globally, after Tesla and BYD Auto in 2023.

Chinese car manufacturer GAC has launched the AION electric car brand in the GCC region. The introduction of the EV brand is marked by the introduction of the AION Y electric crossover SUV in the GCC region.

2024 AION Y: Powertrain Configuration

The AION Y is equipped with a single electric motor, which is powered by a 63.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It delivers a maximum output of 134 horsepower (100kW) and 225 Nm of torque. The AION Y provides a NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) range of 490 kilometers on a single charge.

2024 AION Y: Exterior Design & Features

The AION Y features a crossover SUV body style with a minimalist design. It looks elegant and futuristic from the outside. The car comes with all LED lighting and the unique-looking headlight and DRLs make its design stand out from the crowd. The car also gets LED fog lights, power-adjustable side mirrors with turn signal indicators, rain-sensing front wipers, and electric flush door handles. The AION Y comes fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels, all four wheels have 215-section tires.
