Below is how the BMW’s new-generation 2 Series Gran Coupe looks like

SAUDI ARABIA : Leaked images of the second generation of the BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe have now emerged just a few days before the official presentation of the model. Aesthetically, it looks rather sleek and the recently adopted headlights resemble those of the older BMW models.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe, or 2GC as many prefer to call it, has been known in the market for all three and a half years now. But as the car is now at mid-cycle BMW has been planning to refresh it substantially. 

Earlier, there have been instances of well-disguised prototypes of the new model under test mules, but a recent leak of patent images has given a sneak peek of the new design. From these images, it can be seen that the facelift will introduce various changes, some of which are sexy and some others repulsive.

New Design

It is therefore expected that the 2GC will receive a major facelift, more so the windows look set to be redesigned. It is not just the front and rear that has been changed, the car’s skin appears to have been given a new identity. At first glance, the new look for the 2GC doesn’t appear to shout as loudly as the current model does. As much as this may appeal to a wider market, it lacks the menacing appeal of the current generation’s design for those who desire it. At the moment, their small angles and the obscene black inserts are being substituted by the smaller intakes, the widened air dam, and the more expressive bumper lip.

Powerful Engine

As for the interior, although the latest photos that have leaked to the Internet do not show it, you can expect a new design of the cabin, as well as the expansion of the list of options and the introduction of modern technologies. Regarding what lies beneath the bonnet, it is too early to name the exact engines that will be used as power plants in the future model. However, the company may pursue the existing manufacturing of petrol and diesel engines as BMW. At present, the 2GC is supported with a pair of 2. The following two new engines are now single 0-liter turbocharged: one petrol; and one diesel. The petrol engine outputs 177 bhp and 280 Nm and the diesel 188 bhp and 400Nm.

Launch & Availability

Expect the facelifted BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe to be unveiled either by the end of 2024 or early 2025 with some changes to help the car remain relevant in its segment.
