AudiAudi is enhancing the 2025 e-tron GT with a range of upgrades, solidifying its position as a formidable competitor to the Porsche Taycan. The updates extend beyond aesthetics, incorporating improvements in batteries, powertrains, and chassis components across the S e-tron GT, RS e-tron GT, and RS e-tron GT Performance models.

    Exterior and Design Changes

The 2025 e-tron GT sports new grille designs and a two-dimensional Audi logo. The S model features glossy black trim around its grille, while the RS variants showcase wider side air intakes with distinct "L-shaped" elements.

New wheel designs are part of the refresh, including 20-inch multispoke options and 12-spoke forged wheels reminiscent of the 1991 Avus Quattro concept. The RS Performance model introduces a new Bedford Green color and a unique matte carbon roof with "carbon camouflage" elements.

    Interior Upgrades

Inside, the changes are subtler but significant. The digital gauge cluster, or Virtual Cockpit, now provides more detailed information about the EV’s battery status, including temperature, preconditioning, and real-time charging rates.

AudiRS models offer specific trim content, and the Performance variant's display features a selectable white background, echoing the 1994 Audi RS2 Avant’s white gauges. A new panoramic sunroof allows for switching between clear and opaque glass at the push of a button.

The cabin retains its overall layout but adds a new squared-off steering wheel and redesigned seats with updated patterns and illuminated logos in the seatbacks. Interior trim options include birch and carbon camouflage, with Serpentine Green stitching that complements the new Bedford Green exterior.

    Performance Enhancements

Audi has introduced a new rear motor incorporating parts from its PPE platform, making it about 22 pounds lighter than the previous version. The new powertrains are not only more efficient but also more powerful.

The base e-tron GT's previous dual-motor setup with 522 horsepower has been replaced by the S trim, which now delivers 671 horsepower, surpassing the outgoing RS e-tron GT's 637 horsepower. The new RS model boasts an impressive 845 horsepower, while the top-tier RS Performance version reaches a staggering 912 horsepower with the overboost function.

AudiThe Performance variant, dubbed Audi's "first fully electric RS model," features a modified front motor with an updated pulse inverter capable of higher discharge currents. Audi claims it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 2.5 seconds, while the regular RS and S models achieve this in 2.8 and 3.4 seconds, respectively. Top speeds are 155 mph for the RS models and 152 mph for the S model.

    Battery and Charging Improvements

The e-tron GT's battery has been optimized to be about 22 pounds lighter, with a net capacity increased from 83.7 to 97.0 kWh. This enhancement results from an optimized two-layer cooling plate.

AudiThe peak DC fast-charging rate has been increased from 270 to 320 kilowatts, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes, or add approximately 174 miles of range in the same time. Additionally, a 22.0-kW onboard charger is available for Level 2 connections.
