Saudi Arabia: Mercedes-Benz has revealed the third-generation GLA with the biggest redesign yet. It is built on the new MMA (Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture) platform, the same as the latest CLA. For the first time, it's offered as a fully electric model alongside a new 48V mild-hybrid petrol option. The Saudi Arabian launch date of the GLA is yet to be confirmed.

Built on the MMA Platform

The MMA platform is designed as "electric-first," suitable for both battery-electric powertrains and efficient 48V mild-hybrid combustion engines. This shared architecture lets the new GLA replace both the outgoing combustion GLA and the fully electric EQA in one model line, making it a future-proof base for Mercedes' compact SUV range.

Second-row legroom is up to 38 mm more, with headroom up 23 mm front / 24 mm rear. Boot space on the electric model rises to 410L (+70L), expanding to 1,400L with seats folded, plus a 107L front trunk.

The 350 4MATIC goes from 0-100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. With the 320kW DC charger, it could add 270 km of range in 10 minutes. The 4MATIC electric can tow up to two tonnes braked, a strong figure for a BEV in this class.

Mild-Hybrid Petrol GLA: a new 1.5L turbo four-cylinder paired with a 30 hp electric motor built into a new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission (8F-eDCT).
