Volkswagen Passat Pro Lands In The Chinese Market

SAUDI ARABIA : The new Volkswagen Passat Pro has been launched in China and it sounds quite interesting. There are some key aesthetic differences in the new Passat when compared to the older international model.

Substantial Dimensions

When it comes to size, the Passat Pro certainly makes its presence felt on the road. Measuring a substantial 5,006 mm in length, it stands out as one of the longer sedans in its class. This increase in length, compared to the European wagon model which is 4,917 mm long, gives the Passat Pro a sleeker, more elongated profile, adding to its visual appeal. Its larger dimensions also translate into a roomier cabin, which enhances the comfort of both front and rear passengers. 

Robust Powertrains

Under the hood, the Passat Pro is powered by Volkswagen’s widely-used 2.0-litre TSI engine, an engine choice familiar to those acquainted with the Volkswagen Auto Group's offerings. This turbocharged unit is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DSG), a combination that delivers 217 horsepower and a hefty 350 Nm of torque. While this setup ensures robust performance and responsive handling, the current lineup does not include any electrified options. 

Plush Exterior & Design

Specifically, Passat Pro which is only available in China has inherited most of the front part of the look from regular wagons imported from Europe but sports a considerably sculpted and stretched rear part. Among them the revised rear doors and the high and narrow roofline of a classic sedan, making the car seem very stylish and up-to-date. 

At the rear, replacing the tailgate, more typical for the European version of the car, the Passat Pro introduces a longer boot; again recalling Audi, this gives the car a more upmarket feel.

Exquisite Feature List

On the inside the Passat Pro is loaded with the latest technology and luxurious components that will enhance the ride. In the centre of the cabin there is a fully digital instrument panel that features a 15-inch infotainment touchscreen that controls the car’s navigation, entertainment and setting functions. This is aided by a 10.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.6-inch Passenger display that see to it that the driver as well as the front passenger gets all the information he would require and most importantly at his vicinity. 

Launch & Availability

Currently, the Passat Pro is available exclusively in the Chinese market, and there are no plans to extend its availability to other regions such as the UAE.
