Lexus ES Platform and dimensions

The announcement confirms a redesigned TNGA GA-K platform in the new ES. It provides higher structural rigidity to reduce chassis vibrations. The new ES is 165 mm longer than its predecessor, with a wheelbase stretched by 80 mm. That gives it more rear-seat legroom, which is a very critical factor for the chauffeur-driven executive segment in the Kingdom. The updated platform, tested at the Toyota Technical Center Shimoyama, is also structurally stiffer. This helps in reducing noise and vibration for a quieter ride on long highway journeys between Riyadh and Jeddah.
Hybrid and electric drivetrains
The launch material details two powertrain options: a 2.5-litre hybrid system and a fully electric variant with a floor-mounted battery.

The ES 350h continues the hybrid focus with an updated 2.5-litre inline four-cylinder petrol engine paired with an integrated eAxle for all-wheel drive capability. For the first time, a fully electric model joins the lineup. The ES 500e uses a floor-mounted battery pack to lower the centre of gravity. It also features the DIRECT4 force control system, which dynamically manages torque between the front and rear axles. The hybrid offers a familiar balance of efficiency, while the ES 500e presents a new choice for a market still building its charging infrastructure.

Cockpit and driver aids
The cabin technology gets a complete overhaul. Lexus highlights an upgraded Lexus Safety System+ 4, which includes an enhanced Pre-Collision System and Radar Cruise Control. The key Cockpit and driver aids include:

- 14-inch Display Audio multimedia system
- Responsive Hidden Switches on the steering wheel and instrument panel
- Lexus Safety System+ 4 as standard
- Pre-Collision System with wider intersection monitoring
- Radar Cruise Control with smoother traffic deceleration
- Panoramic View Monitor with new 3D View mode
- Swipe control to pan around the vehicle in 3D view

Middle East market position
According to the release, deliveries of both the hybrid and Electric variants are commencing across authorized regional dealerships. Both hybrid and full-EV options directly address different buyer priorities, making it a larger, quieter, and technologically advanced contender in the midsize luxury space. It comes in seven exterior colours, including a newly formulated SOU finish. The combination of increased rear space, upgraded driver aids, and the choice of an efficient hybrid or silent EV positions it against its German rivals.
