Audi Unveils Five China-Dedicated Models at Auto Shanghai 2025

Saudi Arabia : German carmaker Audi unleashed the A5L, A5L Sportback, and Q5L with updated combustion tech, showing its dual-path focus.

Audi stuns Auto Shanghai 2025 with five new production models, including the debut of its China-only brand ‘AUDI’ and a bold push into both EV and combustion-engine markets. Let’s see what Audi brought to the stage in Shanghai.

Five Big Launches from Audi in Shanghai 

Audi, FAW, and SAIC showcased 19 models at Auto Shanghai 2025, including five major debuts:

A5L and A5L Sportback: Next-Gen Sedans

The Audi A5L, built by FAW Audi, features a 77mm longer wheelbase than the global model. It includes:

• 48V mild-hybrid engines.
• Premium Platform Combustion.
• Panoramic display and passenger screen.

The A5L Sportback, from SAIC Audi, shares the same base but comes with a sportier design and a China-specific digital setup. Its dynamic rear end offers a fresh take on the classic Sportback style.

Audi Q5L: SUV Space and Style

The Q5L brings premium SUV comfort with an extra 125mm wheelbase. It also runs on the Premium Platform Combustion and uses a 48V mild-hybrid system. This model focuses on space, performance, and high-end ride quality.

A6L e-tron: Flagship EV Sedan

Produced by the Audi FAW NEV Company in Changchun, the A6L e-tron is Audi’s third EV on the Premium Platform Electric. It boasts:

• 132mm longer wheelbase.
• 107kWh battery.
• Up to 770 km range.
• 800V charging for quick top-ups.

Comfort is key, especially in the rear seat, and the tech is top-tier.

AUDI E5 Sportback: China-First Innovation

The E5 Sportback is the first release from the AUDI brand. Built with SAIC, it brings:

• Up to 579kW power.
• 0–100 km/h in 3.4 seconds.
• 770km max range.
• Rear-wheel or quattro drive.
• Adaptive air suspension.

Its cabin features a new UI, upgraded driver aids, and a bold design direction. It will go on sale soon after the show.
