Design

• The first look at the cockpit and then the two rear rows gives you a glimpse of how much has changed inside. A completely new one won’t be an overstatement, because the layout and quality of material look way better, premium and appealing.

Driving Position

• I have seen all previous Innova, and sitting in this third generation makes me feel a totally different experience. The platform is different, and so are the key elements, and a much improved one. 
• At the driving seat, you feel the height, commanding position and everything under control, easy access to all the controls and vehicle info. A job well done.
• The 8-way adjustable driver’s seat and tilt-and-telescopic steering wheel allow you to get everything to your personal choice for utmost comfort and convenience. 
• From the driver seat, you can see front and side with clear visibility by large windshield and bigger windows, and it is quite airy and flashy with light, and the mirrors also provide excellent visibility
• One ease of operation is the nice steering wheel with controls mounted on it for audio, cruise control, and safety features that reduce driver distraction, a lot of convenience. 

Passenger Comfort

• Now heading to the second row, there is a lot of space waiting for you with superb comfort, with captain seats, making it easy to access the third row for greater overall comfort and convenience.
• The third row offers sufficient legroom and headroom for adults on shorter trips, but it is not a secret that it feels a bit tight for taller passengers during long journeys.
• You get foldable seats for the second and third rows, this essentially allows you to use them flexibly as and when needed for cargo by folding any row as per the space required.
• For the comfort, there are rear air vents and USB ports available for the passengers

Storage

• The cabin is big, three rows and 8 passenger capacity, and naturally, storage is critical, so there are numerous storage spaces provided, like multiple cup holders, door pockets, and front armrest storage
• The bottle holder between the front seats holds a 1-litre bottle, and there are multiple cup holders on the front dashboard.
• Additional storage includes two glove boxes (with one cooled and illuminated), cubby holes, and retractable drink holders well-located near air vents to keep beverages cool during drives.

Boot Space

• The Innova has a relatively modest 300 litres with all seats in place, and this will allow you to carry basic essential stuff.
• Folding the third row increases cargo capacity, allowing for more luggage or larger items.
• And, if you’re on a long family trip or weekend getaway, with more likely more luggage, then folding both the second and third rows opens up a lot of space with a flat load area
• The lowered floor height of the boost makes the access easy during the loading and unloading of items.

• Compared to some rivals, the boot space with the third row in use is limited, but practical enough for a couple of small suitcases

Ride and Handling

• The Innova has always been a driver’s favourite car, a real pleasure to drive, a nice, refined powertrain and a great, comfortable ride. This is very much the case in the third genn Innovat. 
• Our drive on the mostly city road was excellent, as the suspension is well-tuned and the familiar higher-profile tires easily absorb bumpy roads and potholes.
• Our ride was mostly comfortable and stable, no concerns, and it gave a relaxed feel on the highways too, comfortably cruising at 80 km/h. Innova handles city roads easily, but this isn’t your typical off-road SUV, so you must be content with the performance.
• Like always, while on the highway, the commanding driving position and superb visibility made driving not just confident but a lot smoother, too.
• Toyota has been able to nicely balance between comfort, effortless driving, along being in full control every single time.
• What is noticeable is the front-wheel-drive layout and smooth CVT transmission for awesome acceleration, especially during bumper-to-bumper city traffic.
• Based on our considerable drive across varied terrains, the Innova maintains its key USPs of great driving dynamics with total control and ease of handling on Saudi Arabian roads, and families will be delighted with the car.

Sayarabay Recommends: Among the three variants, it is relatively easy for us to recommend the GL HEV for very simple and straightforward reasons. It is a value buy, helps you save good money but at the same time offers a hybrid powertrain, which is excellent, promises greater mileage fuel efficiency, and almost all the key features like infotainment and safety features. The GL HEV is actually a great balance of price, features and technology. The base GL is affordable, but you miss out on the hybrid, and the VIP7 HEV, which gets everything, comes with a price premium. Whereas the GL HEV is perfect for families who wish to own a practical, eco-friendly, and feature-packed MPV.

The Innova into this third generation has impressed us a lot; it has changed a lot for the better, but also kept its original ethos intact. Starting from the spacious cabin and comfortable interior, it is the best choice for large families and groups of travellers. The addition of a hybrid powertrain makes the Innova even more appealing to a wider customer segment, appealing to those seeking economical yet robust performance on both city roads and highways. Innova is smooth to drive and offers a smooth and stable ride. However, there is a scope to do a little more to improve the overall handling to make it a gentle and softer, and also sporty acceleration. There is a lot on offers in terms of safety that boost confidence no matter where you are driving across KSA. Then, of course, Innova’s reliability, strong resale value, and Toyota’s extensive service network are something that provides extra value to the buyers, and this makes us fall in love with this highly admirable MPV.
