A notable new feature for the updated BRZ is the Sport mode, activated via a button on the centre console, which enhances throttle response and increases the volume of the Active Sound Control system inside the cabin. The automatic version will also allow for manual downshifts at higher revs, giving the driver more control.

This means the manual version still accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and has a top speed of 226 km/h (claimed). The Japanese-market STI Sport flagship, which already features its own STI-tuned damper setup, will be the only variant not receiving the chassis upgrades.
