MG 5 (2023-2024) 1.5L STD AT

Took my friend’s MG 5 from Jeddah to Taif for a weekend adventure. The cabin impressed me first, smooth dashboard, silver accents, soft seats with lumbar support, and enough legroom for our tall cousin. The engine isn’t punchy, but for the highways and mountain roads, the ride felt stable thanks to the CVT. Luggage? No problem, three suitcases plus snacks and extra bags. Rear seat armrest with cupholders became our “tea corner.” The sound is slightly average, and engine can be noisy if you push it, but as a practical, cost-friendly car with good storage for family or friends, it delivers.

The MG 5 is a practical and superb sedan, perfect for small families and everyday use. Having owned this vehicle for the last 8 months, I can vouch for its practicality and efficiency. Priced at an affordable SAR 55,775, it offers great value for money. The MG 5 is loaded with advanced and comfort features that make my daily commute not only easy but also relaxing. If you're looking for a sedan in the SAR 50,000 - 60,000 price range, I highly recommend the MG 5. You won't regret it.

If you look at the price range of the MG 5 there is hardly anything in the range which has got what this sedan has on offer. I mean just look at the stylish design, be it side, front or rear, it is a modern car. With generous space in both the rows, nicely decorated cockpit, commanding driving positions with all the bells and whistles for comfort, safety and entertainment. Same is the case with the rear passenger, and everything for less than SAR 55K, makes the MG 5 my first choice in the segment.

I consider the MG 5 a highly affordable sedan that get everything you need in the price point and can be used for daily driving. The car is no nonsense one, with very good handling, a nice peppy 1.5 engine that gives 118hp of power tuned a CVT, so quite comfortable to drive in the city. Then the cabin is well equipped with high quality materials, a lot of features that you use daily and quite a luxurious feel inside with soft material seats and a roomy cabin. Under SAR 60k, this is the best you can get.

I think MG brand is offering a lot of options in the Saudi Arabian market with cars at different price points, several of them are well-positioned in terms of price, features and performance. The MG 5 is one such example, I drove this car for a few weeks, and just liked the way it drove, look, feel and handles. And not to mention the comfortable cabin loaded with key features like infotainment, comfort, safety. With a 1.5L engine giving 118 power is sufficient for this Sedan, and the mileage is superb with appealing exteriors.

I’ve been using the MG 5 for over a year for city and highway drivers. This car has been my vehicle for the most part and also fills in for the occasional family gateways. This entire period, the car has been a completely no-nonsense vehicle, very smooth to drive, with higher mileage, and also trouble-free. This is my first MG car here in the Kingdom, and I had no issue whatsoever be it service or cost of maintenance. I liked the car's interior, features, and comfortable driver, and would recommend anyone who wants an affordable everyday car.
