Saudi Arabia: Lexus Saudi Arabia offers Lexus Prime, a prepaid periodic maintenance programme covering scheduled servicing for eligible Lexus vehicles. This makes periodic maintenance easier to manage and allows customers to pay for a selected group of periodic maintenance services in advance, with fixed costs according to the package purchased. Depending on the vehicle and package, Lexus Prime can cover scheduled maintenance up to 50,000 km, 70,000 km, or 100,000 km, with time limits of three, four, or five years, respectively. The programme is divided into Prime Neo, intended for eligible newer vehicles, and Prime Flex, designed for eligible used Lexus vehicles. The two programmes differ mainly in the mileage point at which the package starts and the flexibility offered to owners.

What is Lexus Prime?

Lexus Prime is a prepaid periodic maintenance package for Lexus vehicles in Saudi Arabia. Under it, customers purchase a package covering specified periodic services during its validity period. Instead of paying separately for each scheduled maintenance visit. The programme is available through Abdul Latif Jameel Retail service centres. Customers can pay in cash, including payment through a debit card, Visa or MasterCard. The package includes the scheduled maintenance work specified in the vehicle's Owner's Manual, along with the spare parts, engine oil, and fluids required for those periodic services. Lexus also provides a 15% discount on labour for additional mechanical repairs that are outside the scope of the package during its validity period, subject to the programme's conditions.

Lexus Prime Neo vs Prime Flex

Lexus Prime has two main package types.

Prime Neo

Prime Neo is intended for Lexus vehicles from the 2024 model year onwards that were imported through the authorised Lexus distributor in Saudi Arabia, Abdul Latif Jameel Motors. All Prime Neo packages begin with the 10,000-km maintenance service. There are three Prime Neo options:

Prime Flex

Prime Flex is intended for Lexus vehicles from the 2023 model year onwards. Unlike Prime Neo, it offers different starting mileage ranges, making it more suitable for owners of used Lexus vehicles that have already covered some distance. The available Prime Flex packages are:

What does Lexus Prime cover?

Lexus Prime is focused on periodic maintenance, rather than being a comprehensive repair or warranty package. The programme covers the maintenance work specified in the Owner's Manual during the package period. This includes the required spare parts for scheduled maintenance as well as the relevant oils and fluids. The package also includes:

• Scheduled periodic maintenance according to the Owner's Manual
• Required spare parts for periodic maintenance
• Engine oil and filter replacement at the included maintenance services, except the 1,000-km service
• Fully synthetic 5W-30 engine oil
• 15% labour discount on additional mechanical repairs outside the package, subject to the programme's conditions

Additional repair work requested by the customer is charged separately.

What is not covered?

Lexus Prime does not cover every repair or maintenance requirement that a vehicle may encounter. The programme excludes repairs resulting from servicing performed at centres outside the specified Abdul Latif Jameel Retail network. General repairs are also outside the package and require customer approval and payment. It also excludes repairs or adjustments resulting from improper use, including examples such as:

• Racing
• Overloading
• Neglect
• Modifications
• Tampering
• Incorrect disassembly or repair
• Collision accidents
• Non-genuine spare parts or materials
• Improper maintenance
• Insufficient maintenance
• Use of fluids that do not comply with the Owner's Manual
• Work that is not expressly specified as required maintenance in the Owner's Manual

Customers also cannot receive a payment or discount for spare parts or oil that they supply themselves.

An important point about discounts

Buying Lexus Prime automatically cancels existing discounts, agreements and contracts covered by the programme's terms, including examples such as fleet discounts and fleet employee discounts.

Is Lexus Prime worth considering?

The Lexus Prime can provide a simpler way of budgeting for scheduled maintenance for buyers who want to keep their vehicles within the authorised service network only. Its main highlight is the prepaid and fixed package price and covers periodic maintenance work, required maintenance parts, oils and fluids. Prime Neo is particularly straightforward for owners of eligible newer Lexus vehicles because it starts at the 10,000-km service and extends through three different coverage levels: Basic, Premium and Elite. Prime Flex is more relevant to owners of eligible used Lexus vehicles because it provides multiple mileage bands, including packages starting from 20,000 km and extending as high as the 210,000-km maintenance point. The most imprtant thing to consider is that the Lexus Prime is not an all-repairs package and does not cover accident damage, misuse, general repairs and work outside the scheduled maintenance requirements remain outside its coverage.
