What’s New in the DB12 2025?

How much is the Aston Martin DB12’s price?

The Aston Martin DB12’s price starts at around $248,086, which is about AED 911,219.

How many variants are there in the Aston Martin DB12?

The 2024 DB12 is on sale in 1 variant and that is the standard one.

Which is the most value-for-money variant?

Given that this hypercar is on sale in 1 variant only, it is the one we recommend.

What features does the Aston Martin DB12 get?

Among those, a remarkable change is the completely new architecture of Electrical and Electronic (E&E) which was previously an imported unit from Mercedes-Benz. Outsourcing of such a system is normally preferable for a low volume manufacturer such as Aston Martin. Well, this time Aston Martin brass has gone one step further and developed their system in-house which will be used in every new model starting from the new Vantage and the revised DBX.

How spacious is it?

Our test car may have been darker than a coal mine, but a jaunt through the online configurator shows that there are plenty more colorful and exciting door handles out there to be had if you’re willing to pay. One option is many types of wood, metal and carbon fiber interior trim, and as for leather and stitching options, a thousand possibilities are possible. In general the cabin is spacious enough for a car of this type and one definitely wouldn’t describe it as a sporting model.

What engine & transmission options are available?

As we’ve already experienced with the DBX and Vantage, Aston Martin has managed to take AMG’s familiar 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 and infuse it with a unique character. The engine’s sound, in particular, is a highlight, offering greater depth and richness compared to its AMG counterparts.

It evolves in tone and volume as the revs climb, delivering an always-pleasing auditory experience. And this isn’t just about a louder exhaust—though there is a button for that too. When you press the accelerator, you’ll notice more differences. Unlike the DBX, which uses AMG’s 9-speed MCT gearbox, the DB12 is equipped with ZF’s 8-speed torque converter, mounted at the rear.

The ZF transmission is notably smoother and less aggressive in its shifts compared to AMG’s unit. However, it does have a quirk: it can be sluggish to downshift if you suddenly demand more power by pushing the accelerator—this happens even in Sport+ mode. This is not a common issue in other high-performance cars using the same transmission, which somewhat detracts from the DB12’s credentials as a ‘super tourer.’

However, when you back off just slightly, the situation improves significantly. Paddle shifts are generally quick and precise, although the paddles themselves have been relocated from the steering column to the steering wheel.

Once you find the right rhythm, this engine truly shines. The power delivery, much like the sound, feels distinct from any Mercedes application. Instead of delivering a brutal mid-range punch, the power builds progressively, making each journey to the redline feel like an experience in itself, thanks to the smoothness of the power delivery and, of course, that intoxicating soundtrack.

What’s the mileage of the Aston Martin DB12?

A mileage of almost 13 kmpl is reported among Aston Martin DB12 owners. And when you think about it, almost 13 kmpl is not that bad, especially for a car that does 0-100kmph in a shade over 3.5 seconds.

How safe is the Aston Martin DB12?

Anti-lock Brakes: ABS brakes are designed to automatically detect when a tire has ceased rotating due to heavy braking, modulating the brake pressure to allow the tire to continue rotating. This feature enhances the vehicle’s ability to maintain steering control during hard braking.

Stability Control: This system automatically detects when the vehicle’s handling limits have been exceeded and responds by reducing engine power and/or applying selective braking to help prevent a loss of control.

Front-impact Airbags: These airbags are specifically designed to protect the driver’s and passenger’s heads in the event of a frontal collision.

Side-impact Airbags: These airbags are located in the front seats and are intended to protect the torso during a side-impact collision.

Overhead Airbags: In the event of a side collision or rollover, overhead airbags deploy to protect the occupants' heads.

Knee Airbags: These airbags are designed to protect the lower extremities of the occupants from serious injury in the event of a collision

How many color options are there?

There are 5 color options on offer for the Aston Martin DB12. Hyper Red, Xenon Grey, Satin Aluminite Silver, Neutron White, and Iridescent Emerald are what they are. Of these, we think the Neutron White looks rather stunning.

Should you buy the Aston Martin DB12?

Because Aston Martin did such an excellent job of making the DB11 such a great car, it’s easy to forget that the DB12 is built using the same platform. It quite literally turbo-charges, intensifies or calibrates the car’s speed, handling, comfort, luxury, high-tech quotient and, not to mention, style. Albeit still has an issue that deals with identity. For as much as the DB12’s performance has been upped by the elimination of the V12, the perception remains that something has been lost. Further to this is the fact that it is inclined to come with a rather steep price tag, which positions it comfortably above the slinkier Ferrari Roma. For those not likely to gallivant on perfect European roads, the DBX SUV could very well be a more real-world grand tourer.

What are my alternatives?

If you still do not want to put your money down for the DB12, you can consider some of its rivals instead. That list includes the likes of the Ferrari Roma and the Lexus LC. The Ferrari presents itself as a far better handler and overall a more well-rounded package, something Porsche cars have always been known for. As for the Lexus, it is more comfortable and offers Lexus bulletproof reliability. If that’s paramount to you, we’d advise getting it over the DB12. One more rival to the DB12 would be the Porsche 911 which is a far better car too.
